Adventures of Spock and Captain Kirk like you’ve never seen before! Two of the iconic heroes of the Star Trek series are in the credits of Strange New Worlds, a prequel that takes place several years before the plot of the iconic sci-fi program.
In this new series, Spock (Ethan Peck) is second-in-command to Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) on the USS Enterprise, whose crew is at the edge of the universe to discover. “Stranger New Worlds” (French translation of series title, editor’s note).
Strange New Worlds is a spin-off from the Star Trek Discovery series. Spock is indeed the half-brother of Michael Burnham, the show’s protagonist, and the latter also debuted in Discovery’s second season alongside Captain Pike. The popularity of these two characters and the quality of their interpretations then allowed this spin-off series to see the light of day.
Other iconic protagonists of the Star Trek universe also appear in Strange New Worlds, starting with communications officer Nyota Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding) or James T. Kirk, who was introduced in the first season finale as Paul Wesley.
Season 2 also welcomes Star Trek: Lower Decks hero Brad Boemler in his first live-action appearance; The latter is played by Jack Quaid (Boys), who already voices the character in the animated series.
Also remember that Strange New Worlds is not directly related to Picard Patrick Stewart, two Star Trek series stories about two centuries apart!
