This Friday (16), the Common Court delivered a notice to WTorre in which it set a period of three working days for the company to pay off its nearly R $ 128 million debt with Palmeiras. In this way, the construction company has until Wednesday (21st) to make the payment or file a dispute.
In case of recognition of the entire debt, WTorre can make a deposit of 30% of the amount and request payment of the rest in installments. In the second case, you have 15 days to respond to the debt. Silence can lead to more drastic measures, such as attachment.
Silvia Torre, president of the board of directors of WTorre, acknowledged the debt with Palmeiras last Wednesday. However, she denied that the value is almost R $ 128 million. For the construction company, the discussion is still in the Chamber of Arbitration, but the club does not agree.
Palmeiras accuses WTorre and Real Arenas, its subsidiary and stadium manager, of failing to transfer amounts agreed in the contract for naming rights, booths and performances due to the club. He therefore claims to have received an amount of R $ 66 million between 2014 and 2015. Since then, the club claims that the debt has accumulated, reaching R $ 127.9 million. The council is also calling for an investigation into embezzlement and conspiracy against the companies.
