Heavy (very, very heavy even) is what Zack Snyder has in store for us with Rebel Moon, which subscribers will be able to discover later this year on Netflix. The director also explains it in this video: he has been working on this project for 20 years, which was originally a spin-off of Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi.
It takes us to a peaceful colony at the edge of the galaxy. Soon he finds himself threatened by the troops of the tyrant regent Balisarius. They send a young woman with a mysterious past to find warriors on neighboring planets to help them settle there.
The filmmaker could rely on the help of the American giant – and a comfortable budget – to make his dream come true. In this pharaonic project, he was followed by actors – Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Ed Skrein and Djimon Hounsou, who we see on the screen. They began a year-long shoot while training extremely vigorously. If the choreographies and fights promise quality, we also expect Snyder’s staging, whose style is completely recognizable. But these first pictures of the shoot are already enviable…
Netflix has already announced the release of two Rebel Moon movies. Each of these feature films will also be presented in two versions: the first for the general public and the second to be banned under 16. We’ll have to wait a few more months before we discover the actual trailer, but mark December 22nd in your calendars already.
