The new BMW 5 Series launches the AirConsole platform, which allows games to be played directly on the vehicle’s media centre
The recently presented new BMW 5 Series – and which still does not have a date to arrive in Brazil – brings, among its highlights, a novelty that has everything to please fanatics of the game.
This is the AirConsole platform, which makes its debut on the new BMW 5 Series. It allows the driver and passengers to play various casual games while the vehicle is stationary, as a way to pass the time while waiting for the vehicle to charge, for example, in the case of the electric BMW i5.
The novelty, which will gradually roll out to other BMW models, uses the occupants’ smartphone as a joystick for games. The AirConsole app supports multiple players simultaneously, and even rear seat passengers can join in the fun of in-car games during layovers.
Among the 15 games available are racing, sports, trivia, simulation, strategy, jumping/running, and puzzle games. The new BMW 5 Series will be launched in Europe in October and could arrive in Brazil next year.
