The “Wandinha” actress will star in a thriller series for young people

Actress Emma Myers, who plays werewolf Enid Sinclair in ‘Wandinha,’ has been confirmed to star in a new series. She will bring the character of Pip Fitz-Amobi to life in Holly Jackson’s adaptation of the best-selling youth mystery franchise “Good Girl’s Guide To Murder.”

The protagonist of the literary series is described as intelligent and willful, and in the storyline to be adapted by the BBC network, harbors doubts about a murder case that took place five years ago. She wonders if student Andie Bell was really killed by her boyfriend Sal Singh, or if the real killer is still at large.

Myers will star opposite first-time actor Zain Iqbal, who will play the male lead, Ravi.

Fiona Campbell, Youth Audience Officer for BBC iPlayer and BBC Three, shared her excitement at the casting announcement: “Since we announced that ‘A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder’ was coming to the BBC, we knew there would be plenty speculation from fans about who would play Pip and Ravi”. He added: “In Emma and Zain, we meet two actors who embody characters so perfectly it seems as if they have stepped straight from the pages of Holly’s books onto our screens. I can’t wait for BBC Three viewers to see them in action”.

The screenplay of the adaptation is by Poppy Cogan, known for her work in ‘Red Rose’, and the direction is by Dolly Wells, who gained prominence in the ‘Dracula’ series.

Filming of the show will take place in England later this year.

Holly Jackson’s books are a worldwide success. In Brazil, they were edited by Intrínseca, which launched this Monday (19/6) the fourth volume, “Jogo Fatal”. The publisher has also made available a box set with four different books from the collection. See the covers below.
