Netflix announced on Tuesday (20th) that Wandinhaits Addams Family spin-off series, is officially the most popular English-language series on the platform, even surpassing the success of Season 4 of Stranger things. The news comes after streaming changed the way audience metrics are analyzed, impacting the service’s Top 10 selection.
As reported by expirationNetflix will now count audiences based on the number of hours watched divided by the runtime of each individual title. Additionally, the measurement window has been extended from 28 days to 91 days in an effort to give content more time to grow, the famous word-of-mouth strategy.
In short, the change in calculation brings shorter series into play, as the old parameter ended up favoring rides with a longer duration. In order of ranking they are now Wandinha, Stranger things, Dahmer: an American cannibal and the third season of bridgerton. In the field of non-English series, Round 6 remains in the lead even after the changes.
Wandin has been renewed for a second season
absolute success, Wandinha was one of Netflix’s biggest hits in recent years and had, in January of this year (just two months after its release), the green light for a second season.
Further information and details on the next stage of production are yet to be shared, but in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, series creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough said the plan is to delve into the character’s troubled relationships.
We want to kind of explore and kind of complicate all of these relationships moving forward. The school was closed when they left, which gave us more possibilities for season two, and I think that’s something we’re really looking forward to exploring. For us, the show is also about this female friendship, with Wandinha and Enid (Emma Myers) really being at the heart of it.
