Looks like M6 doesn’t know how to air NCIS: Special Investigations Season 20. From April 15, the channel offers two new episodes of the detective fiction every Saturday night, now hosted by Gary Cole.
A streak he broke for the first time on May 27. That evening, M6 did only broadcast one new episode of Season 20 before resuming its regular broadcast the following week.
This Saturday, June 24, M6 has once again decided to shake up its programming. From now on, the channel will offer only one new opus every week.
This Saturday night, viewers will be able to discover the 18th episode of NCIS season 20, in which special agents investigate a strange mystery. Navy Lieutenant Rachel Donohue did try to kill her husband Logan, but she doesn’t remember it. NCIS then discovers that an implant in his arm, a prototype from Dynamics Labs, is responsible for his symptoms…
This new episode of season 20 will be followed by a rebroadcast of episode 2 of season 19. M6 will maintain this pace of airing new episodes, followed by rebroadcasts on subsequent Saturdays. So we’ll have to wait until Saturday, July 22 to find out the finale of NCIS Season 20.
A new spin-off for NCIS
Since its inception in 2003, NCIS: Special Investigations has spawned numerous spin-offs, each set in the four corners of America. It was in Los Angeles that the series was first produced, hosted by Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J. Launched in 2009, it sadly ended last May after 14 seasons.
Five years later, NCIS: New Orleans was born, but the detective series was canceled after 7 seasons. Finally, on September 20, 2021, CBS aired the first episode of NCIS: Hawaii, which follows a team of special agents in the Hawaiian archipelago paradise.
Building on that success, Paramount+ decided to think big by offering the first international iteration of the series. It was in Sydney, Australia that the teams set up the cameras.
Titled NCIS: Sydney, this newcomer to the popular franchise, which is currently filming, stars Olivia Swann (Legends of Tomorrow) and Todd Lassance (The Vampire Diaries). So far, no French broadcaster has announced.
