Famous 90’s animated characters Beavis and Butt-Head are officially back in “Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe”. On Thursday, Paramount + released the first trailer for the new movie and a release date of June 23 – yes, this month!

According to the synopsis, the duo gets older and enters an adventure through time and space that begins with their participation in a space camp as part of a judge’s “sentence”. They both end up being chosen to embark on a mission that ends with the crossing of a black hole and landing on Earth in the year 2022.

Earlier this year, character creator Mike Judge even shared sketches of Beavis and Butt-Head in their old selves, something that, according to collider, will be explored in the film from parallel universes, where they will encounter different versions of themselves. Judge also returns as a voice actor for animations.

The film will be the second of the duo, as another production was made in 1996: “Beavis and Butt-Head Conquer America”. The characters also had a series airing from 1993 to 1997, the show was reprized in 2011 by MTV and became one of the most popular on the channel. In 2016, the production made Rolling Stone magazine’s list of 100 Best TV Shows of All Time.

Also according to the information of collider, Paramount + plans to launch a new series starring Beavis and Butt-Head following the preview of the new movie. The streaming service also aims to stream all 200 remastered episodes of the original series.
