Across the Spider-Verse: Will the sequel come out later than expected?

The first two installments of Sony’s Spider-Verse animated saga, adapted from the Marvel comics, were huge hits with critics and audiences alike. The second opus, which has just been released in cinemas, is also one of the most popular films of the year. And when it’s over, audiences are already wondering when they’ll be able to see the conclusion of Miles Morales’ story.

The current release date for the third film, titled Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is set for March 29, 2024 in the US and April 3, 2024 in France. However, as ComingSoon reports, the artist who worked on the second installment told Vulture that there wasn’t enough work on the project for its release date.

I’ve seen people say, “Oh, they were probably working on this at the same time. There is no chance that this movie will be released on this day. There was progress in pre-production. But as far as production goes, the only progress made on the third is the research or testing that was done before the film was split into two parts. Everyone focused on Across the Spider-Verse and barely crossed the finish line. And now we’re like, “Oh, yeah, now we have to do another one.”

So the third opus might be delayed if this insider is to be believed, but nothing has been confirmed.

So, while you wait to witness the end of the saga, rediscover – or finally discover, if you haven’t already – Spider-Man: Across the Spider-VerseShowing again at your nearest cinema.
