The Witcher (June 29 / July 27)

What is season 3 about?

As the continent’s monarchs, mages, and monsters outbid each other to capture Ciri, Geralt protects her, determined to fend off anyone who tries to harm his barely united family. Yennefer, charged with training the girl for magic, takes them to Arethusa Castle, where they hope to learn more about Ciri’s unknown powers.

But far from the expected safety, they find only a nest of vipers, where treachery is intertwined with political corruption and black magic. They will have to risk everything to escape him, if they don’t want to be lost forever.

What is there to find out?

Season 3 of The Witcher is being adapted A time of disgustVolume 4 of the saga written by Andrzej Sapkowski. The actors have promised that these new episodes will be more faithful to the books. Netflix chose to air them in two parts to retain their audience. The advantage is also a more collected action, without a soft belly.

Note that this will be Henry Cavill’s last season as Geralt de Rive. The actress will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth in the 4th season.

Bird Box Barcelona (July 14)

What is there to find out?

We almost forgot that Netflix has planned a sequel to its 2018 box set with Sandra Bullock. Not really a sequel, but a spin-off that takes place, as its name suggests, in Barcelona. The action will take place at the beginning of the alien invasion, but we need to know a little more about these monsters that we must not look in the eyes… or we will have suicidal thoughts.

The first film created a surprise with its original script and cast. Bird Box Barcelona will have to do the same or even better…

Heartstopper (August 3)

What is it about?

Sharing a passion for rugby, two teenagers Charlie and Nick become fast friends. The former will soon fall in love with his mate, even though he thinks he has no chance.

What is there to find out?

With an audience rating of 4.3/5 on AlloCiné, the Heartstopper series was a hit when it was released in 2022. This little treat, straight from the UK, is an adaptation of a comic book written by Alice Osseman. Subscribers fell under the spell of this bright and exciting gay love story, hosted by actors Keith Connor and Joe Locke. The arrival of season 2 should logically be discussed in social networks this summer.

In these new episodes, Charlie and Nick live out their story by day and take a little detour to Paris on a school trip.

Agent Stone (August 11)

What is it about?

Rachel Stone is a member of Charter, a powerful global peacekeeping organization with a newly arrived low-tech expert on MI6’s elite team.

A highly trained professional, dedicated to his mission and suspicious of everyone, he unfortunately meets a mysterious hacker who will put his double life in danger. Gal Gadot is the queen of Netflix action. The one we’ll soon find in Red Notice 2 is the headliner of Agent Stone, the new blockbuster that stars him as “James Bond au feminine.” A young woman answers Jamie Dornan and Bollywood star Alia Bhatt. If successful, the platform can turn it into a franchise.

One Piece (August 31)

What is it about?

There was a time when Gold Roger was the greatest of pirates, the “Pirate King” was his nickname. After his death, his priceless treasure known as “One Piece” was hidden somewhere on the “Grand Line”. Many pirates went in search of this treasure, but all died before they could reach it.

What is there to find out?

It’s a project that has divided fans since its 2021 announcement. But it’s safe to say that Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s manga will be the talk of the town… for better or for worse. The platform released the first trailer during the TUDUM event and it seems to have convinced a large number of subscribers.

It must be said that the series benefited from a fairly substantial budget (100 million dollars) and its actors were selected according to the mangaka: the main performer – Inaki Godoi – a South American fan of One Piece, the actor who plays Sanji (Taz Skylar) learns martial arts in the same way as McKenna (Zoro), who is the son of Sonny Chiba…

We’ll have to wait for Season 1 to start to see if it pays off.
