After voting for a walkout effective July 1, the Hollywood Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) updated the status of negotiations and indicated positive talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), which could prevent the start of another strike.

According to Varietyconversations point out that an extension to the length of plaintiffs’ contracts could happen if you don’t have a deal by Friday (30).
The Actors Guild discusses residual earnings adjustments, taped audition regulations, and even compensation in the age of artificial intelligence (AI). The last class strike was in 1980, when professionals went out for 95 days to negotiate contracts for pay-TV and videotape productions.
The news of positive talks comes soon after the Directors Union (DGA) reached an agreement with the AMPTP. The class also negotiated salary adjustments and other important points of interest. With the win, the DGA celebrated the deal but stressed that it continues to supportthe actors who are in negotiations and the screenwriters who remain on strike”.
The Writers’ Union has been on strike since May 2, 2023 and there is no deadline yet for the end of the break. Several productions have already been affected by the outage, with Marvel and several studios canceling, including attending Comic-Con 2023. Find out more here!
