Spider-Man’s secret assistant gets his own magazine

Recently, Spider-Man revealed a secret sidekick that won over readers and now gets his own Marvel title.

Spider-Boy is one of those new characters, but writers like Dan Slott like to insert themselves as if they are always present in the Marvel Universe. The child hero, a secret sidekick to Spider-Man’s successful Edge of the Spider-Verse arc in Spider-Man, as a “promotion,” will soon earn the title of him.

The boy, known as Bailey Briggs (Spider-Man’s real name), will have his own enemy, Madame Monstrosity, and will also be part of the core of characters that Squirrel Girl is in. “Spider-Man shouldn’t have a sidekick. This is wrong on so many levels. And that’s exactly why we’re going to have so much fun with this one. Both this character, and this new title, will break all the rules. Bailey Briggs will have over-the-top adventures in the Spider-Man corner of the Marvel Universe,” Slott says.

It is worth noting that Spider-Man already had another helper, Alpha, created by Slott himself. But the teenager didn’t take it, he was too annoying for Peter Parker stay close. It’s Marvel Comics taking advantage of the big-screen Spider-Verse hype to launch more properties.

More details about his secret history, which has existed all this time in the Marvel Universe, as well as his special abilities, will be presented starting with Spider-Boy #1, which goes on sale in overseas stores on November 1st.
