According to the epidemiological bulletin, there have been 63 deaths classified by state surveillance as having a consistent causal link with the covid vaccines. But after looking at the data, the conclusion was that there were 50 deaths. The Ministry of Health report was initially released by the UOL portal.
The number confirms the safety of immunizers, since covid-19 has caused 37.5 million cases and 703,000 deaths in Brazil, which is equivalent to 190,000 deaths for every 10 million cases.
- For every 10 million infected with covid: 190,000 dead;
- Every 10 million covid vaccines: 1 dead.
Investigate suspected cases
According to a report by UOL, the investigation by the Ministry of Health analyzed 4,458 notifications from people who had an adverse event with a “fatal outcome”.
Of these, only 50 (or 1.12%) had a causal link “consistent with vaccination”, or 0.013 cases for every 100,000 doses administered.
The remaining deaths were classified as random reactions or with no information to link to the vaccination.
The report points out that all deaths due to the vaccine have been adults and there is no record of deaths among children and adolescents due to immunization.
