Quiz Series: Where Did You Hear This Song?

TV series and music have always been inseparable. If only to their credit, whose original soundtracks often helped set the atmosphere of the series, such as the timeless opening of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks. The credits can sometimes become more famous than the show itself, as is the case with Mission Impossible’s music, which is signed by Lalo Shiffrin.

But it also often happens that certain songs by famous artists appear in the episodes to make certain scenes more memorable. For example, we can think of one of the most famous romances in the history of sitcoms Ross and Rachel.

In Friends Season 2 Episode 8, Rachel, who has just broken up with Ross, sits outside her apartment window with Monica. Ross makes a phone call, but when Rachel refuses to talk to him, we hear him begging his sister for a favor, who then turns on the radio. We hear the host announce that the song coming up is dedicated to a certain Rachel from Ross.

This song is With or without you of U2, which accentuates the emotion of the scene, and when Rachel decides to pick up the phone to make a call, we expect a romantic reconciliation. It would be a misunderstanding of the show, which never misses an opportunity to make the humor cry, and instead of a call from a loved one, it’s Ross’s turn to hear a personal message in the form of a handout on the radio.

This is just one example from TV shows where songs are used. In this quiz, we offer eight titles from the 80s. It’s up to you to try to remember in which series you could hear them.
