The Cure will perform for 2.5 hours in Brazil

Singer Robert Smith, frontman of The Cure, shared good news for the band’s Latin American fans. In a post on his Twitter profile, he revealed that the band’s performances in Latin America will last for a long time.

“FYI, we’ll be playing at least 150 minute sets at all of our shows in Latin America – plus you’ll get Twilight Sad, Just Mustard, Slowdive…and some other great artists,” the singer wrote.

The Cure will headline the four South American editions of Primavera Sound throughout the year. The group will participate in Primavera Sound Buenos Aires, which will take place on November 25 and 26, Primavera Sound São Paulo on December 2 and 3, Primavera Day Asunción on December 7 and Primavera Sound Bogotá on December 9 and 10.

Of the four presentations, only the San Paolo edition still maintains its undefined programme. While the other festivals have already released full artist lists from their festivals, including Blur, Beck and Pet Shop Boys, Primavera Sound São Paulo has so far only confirmed The Cure.

Primavera Sound 2022 was a success

The Primavera Sound festival, which has been held in Barcelona since 2001, successfully debuted in Brazil in 2022, bringing famous attractions such as Björk, Travis Scott, Lorde and the Arctic Monkeys to the city of São Paulo, among others.

The edition, however, was also criticized for the excess of trees in the place where the main stage was located, which compromised the view of part of the audience. The venue chosen to hold the event this year is the Autodrome of Interlagos, in São Paulo, which should resolve the matter.

The place is known for hosting other major festivals, such as Lollapalooza, and this year it will also be the stage for the debut of The Town, a festival from the same makers of Rock in Rio.

Ticket sales information has yet to be released.
