‘The Gucci House’: release date on Amazon Prime Video

Soon we will be able to hear the extreme Italian accents of Lady Gaga and Jared Leto in the living room.

‘La Casa Gucci’ is the next big premiere on Amazon Prime Video. Ridley Scott’s film didn’t go unnoticed, whether it’s for the bizarre true story of the Gucci family on which it’s based or the exaggerated Italian accents pulled from Lady Gaga and Jared Leto’s manga. What is clear is that it will soon be among the best recent movies on Amazon Prime Video after sneaking into the list of the best movies of 2021.

Inspired by real events the film follows the troubled relationships of the Gucci family over three decades, where there is room for love, betrayal, decadence and, finally, murder. One of Ridley Scott’s best films, ‘The House of Gucci’ features in its cast a fabulous Lady Gaga, who plays the controversial Patrizia Reggiani, wife of Maurizio Gucci, who plays Adam Driver. Both met and fell in love, and their relationship changed the course of the Gucci brand, one of the most prestigious in the world of fashion and accessories. They are joined in the cast of the film by Al Pacino, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek and Camille Cottin, among others, to build the story of one of the biggest scandals in the world of fashion.

Unsurprisingly, the Gucci family has been outraged by the film, and not just because of the accents. “The Gucci family takes note of the release of the film ‘La Casa Gucci’ and is a little taken aback because, although the work claims to want to tell the “true story” of the family, the fears raised by the trailers and interviews released so far are confirm: the film carries a narrative that is far from accurate“They said at the time through a statement. We assume that they were not happy with the wild sex scene between Lady Gaga and Adam Driver in ‘La Casa Gucci’.

Still, the movie went ahead, and even was among the contenders for the 2022 Oscars, although to his misfortune he only got one nomination: for Best Makeup and Hairdressing. She lost it in front of ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye’.

The critics of ‘La Casa Gucci’ in FOTOGRAMAS defined the film as a “grotesque fairy tale about the murder of the grandson of the heir to the Gucci empire” that “has been compensated with a gallery of directly grotesque characters, hyper-makeup, characterized as in the commedia dell’arte”. And he concludes: “An absolute monster stop where all the beauty and elegance that is designed to be exposed is in reality deformity and pathetic decadence. ‘The House of Gucci’ like ‘The House of Usher’ by Edgar Allan Poe”.
