The penultimate episode of Grey’s Anatomy season 19 marks the long-awaited reunion of Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Nick (Scott Speedman), who left a few episodes back on very bad terms.
While she was on a plane to Boston with her family, Nick called her to confess his feelings and tell her he loved her. This declaration of love was coldly received by Meredith, who pretended not to hear and replied that she would call him when he settled in Boston.
And since then it’s been radio silence. Nick, who had left his life in Minnesota to join her in Seattle, had not heard from Meredith.
In the last two episodes of Grey’s Anatomy season 19, Nick, Webber, Katherine, Bailey, Amelia, and Winston travel to Boston to attend the Katherine Fox Awards, where some of them are nominated.
Nick’s opportunity to find Meredith and finally be able to figure out and reconcile their relationship. But with Meredith in Boston and Nick in Seattle, it will be interesting to see how the writers handle their romance.
Will they try to continue their long distance relationship or will Nick move to Boston? We have to wait for the 20th season, which has already been ordered by the channel, to answer.
Much to Ellen Pompeo’s dismay
during the show Actors on actorsEllen Pompeo, who was hosted by Variety, explained that one of her biggest disappointments after leaving Grey’s Anatomy was Nick and Meredith’s relationship.
“Even after all this time, Meredith can’t figure out how to make a relationship work.“, he explained to Katherine Heigl, who played Izzy Stevens in the first seasons of the medical series.
Season 20 of Grey’s Anatomy may allow Ellen Pompeo to take her romance with Nick as she pleases. Because if the actor left the medical series, he did not hide his desire to return in the following seasons for several episodes.
“I should perform next year if I find time“, he explained to his former co-star. “This is not a final goodbye. I think we still have a very interesting story.“
