Warning, the following lines contain spoilers for the end of Grey’s Anatomy season 19. If you don’t want to know anything, go!
Season 19 of Grey’s Anatomy ended on Wednesday night on TF1. And tradition dictates that those last two parts were not easy for the doctors at Gray Sloan Memorial.
As Simone’s wedding approaches and Jo and Link’s relationship seems to be taking off in a new direction, a large group of doctors travel to Boston for the Kathryn Fox Awards, where Nick (Scott Speedman), Winston (Anthony Hill) and Maggie (Kelly McCreary) are nominated.
In this case, they find Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) who really needs their advice. During his research on Alzheimer’s, he realized that everything that had been done before, including what Derek had started, was wrong. So we have to start from scratch…
Back in Seattle, Link and Joe keep up with Sam (played by Sam Page, previously seen on Desperate Housewives) with the help of Nurse Ted (Kim Revere). But in the final minutes of the 19th season of Grey’s Anatomy, when the latter is about to operate on a patient, he suddenly collapses. His heart stopped.
And since we’re not in any hospital, but Gray Sloan Memorial, Sam’s heart stops at the same time. While the interns do everything they can to save him, Owen (Kevin McKidd) goes into the OR and tries to revive Ted. It is on this dramatic cliffhanger that season 19 of Grey’s Anatomy ends.
Will Kim Raver leave the show?
With this tragic ending, the writers probably planned to leave fans wondering about Ted’s fate all summer.
That was without counting the American media, which revealed the names of the actors returning for a 20th season, which has already been ordered by ABC, just hours before the last two episodes aired. And on that list was Kim Raver, confirming that Teddy will be in season 20. So Owen will be able to save her, but at what cost?
In addition to Raver, James Pickens Jr. (Richard Webber) and Chandra Wilson (Bailey), the last two original cast members, have also signed on for an additional year.
Kevin McKidd, who has played Owen since Season 5, Camilla Ludington aka Jo Wilson, and Caterina Scorsone, who plays Amelia Shepherd, have also signed on for Season 20. Finally, Nico Terhomme (Lucas), Midori Francis (Yasuda), Adelaide Kane (Jules). ), Harry Shum Jr. (Kwan) and Alexis Floyd (Simone) are set to return for the new batch of episodes, though their presence has yet to be officially confirmed.
