Movie Quiz: Find the missing word on this movie poster!

Since the dawn of cinema, many films have drawn from a wide variety of planetary bestiaries in search of a title. For example, in 1941 John Huston made what would become one of the classics of Hollywood film noir: The Maltese Falcon, adapted from Dashiell Hammett’s novel of the same name.

The story of detective Sam Spade, who must investigate the suspicious double death of his former colleague Archer and the man he shadowed. An investigation that quickly leads him to the trail of a priceless 16th-century object: a missing falcon statue in Malta.

Another example in a much lighter register and in the 80s this time with La Chèvre, the first of three Francis Weber films starring Pierre Richard and Gérard Depardieu before the duo met again in Les Compères and The Fugitives.

In this film, Campana (Gérard Depardieu) investigates the kidnapping of Marie Benz, the daughter of the CEO of a large company. But the search remains fruitless, the father of the missing person will try to find a final solution, to hire someone who will be hit by as much trouble as his daughter. That person is François Perrin (Pierre Richard), who therefore teams up with Campana and travels to Mexico to find the young woman.

Of course, there are still many examples, and in more recent films we can cite them in completely different registers: Aries Family, Black Panther or Clint Eastwood’s Mule. But it’s time to play! Can you find the names of these eight animals that have disappeared from these movie titles and posters?
