Adapted (in part) from Michael Ende’s novel of the same name, The Neverending Story became an iconic feature film for an entire generation. We honestly didn’t expect Wolfgang Petersen, director of the huge war movie Navi, in the fantasy department. However, in 1984, the German director signed a wonderful tale about the power of imagination.

Bastien, 10 years old, is obsessed with adventure novels. One day, he steals an amazing work, where extraordinary creatures live. He feverishly plunges into the fantastic world of this book, which fascinates him…

From the lucky dragon Falkor to the giant stone man running alongside the dire wolf Gmork, it’s always a treat. But whoever says proactive search is saying sacrifice. Young audiences were thus particularly struck by a painful sequence: the death of Artax, the young hero Atreus’s (Noah Hathaway) white horse, dragging his sorrow through the swamps.
