Cinema and music have always gone hand in hand, and La Boule knows it well. That’s why the seaside resort has been hosting a film and film music festival for 9 years, bringing film lovers and music lovers together around the same passion. Created by Christophe Baratier (Les Choristes) and Sam Bobino, the event ran from June 28 to July 2 this year.
With the presence of big names in the cinematic and musical landscape, including the arrival of guest of honor Kyle Eastwood – the son of the legendary actor and director and composer of some of his films – for a special concert, the festival also shined in its own right. Polished programming.

LA BAULE 2023: And the winners are…
In total, 5 feature films (mostly directed by women) were screened in the competition: Le Théorème de Marguerite (Anna Novion), Une Nuit (Alex Lutz), Sur la Branche (Marie Garel Weiss), Sous le Tapis (Camille Japy) and Past Love Syndrome (Ann Sirotti and Rafael Balboni).
And it is none other than the last mentioned film that won the best picture award. Directed by Anne Sirotti and Raffaele Balboni, in cinemas from October 25, this comedy immerses us in the daily life of a couple who cannot have children because they suffer from “past love syndrome”. There is only one solution: they have to sleep with all their exes once again!

Festival award ceremony
Another award-winning work, this time with an audience award: under the carpet Camille Japp starring Ariane Ascaride portrays a woman who loses her husband and is forced to hide his body under the bed to avoid ruining a family holiday.
Otherwise, the prize for best film score of the year went to Delphine Mallausena for En plein feu, while Carine Viard and Alex Lutz shared the prize for best interpretation for Une Nuit, a drama directed by Alex Lutz himself. Until next year!
