The different cast that Quentin Tarantino originally wanted for Pulp Fiction

One of the greatest cinema classics of the 1990s, Pulp Fiction: Time of Violence (1995) returned to attention after having (again) the original cast list of Quentin Tarantino (via NME). On the list, john travolta (Vincent Vega) and Samuel L. Jackson (Jules Winnfield) are announced as second choices.

While many of Tarantino’s early choices ended up in the movie – including TimRoth, Amanda Plummer, Harvey Keitel, Ving Rhames It is Christopher Walken, some have different first options. Check out the full list:

For the main characters, Michael Madsen was the first choice of Tarantino to interpret Vincent Vegawith whom he previously worked in Reservoir Dogs (1992). travoltameanwhile, is listed in second place to play the character, described as a “strong, strong, strong second choice”.

For Jules, Laurence Fishburne is listed in front of jackson as the first choice. Others mentioned include Eddie Murphy It is Charles S. Dutton.Interestingly, the role of Jody was originally intended for Patricia Arquettesister of Rosanna Arquettewho played her in the film.

For the role of Butch, Bruce Willis is not listed, with the role originally written for Matt Dillon. Other actors in the dispute were Sean Penn, Nicolas Cage, Aidan Quinn It is Johnny Deppwho was also considered for restaurant thief Pumpkin (Tim Roth).
