In childhood, we are presented with a variety of cartoons in television programs. And some of these works, although appreciated at the time, have escaped our memory, either because they were exhibited for a short time, or because they didn’t receive as much attention from the public as other productions.

dark duck
Darkwing Duck follows the adventures of a crime-fighting superhero duck in the fictional town of St. Canard. The animation is a parody of classic superheroes like ‘Batman’ and ‘The Shadow’, with a mix of action, comedy and film noir elements.
Darkwing Duck is the secret identity of Drake Mallard, an ordinary duck who, when necessary, transforms into the fearless hero. He is accompanied by his assistant Captain Boing (from “Duck Tales”) and his adopted daughter Gosalyn.
The cartoon was shown on TV Globo in the 90s, in programs such as Xuxa Park, TV Colossus and Angel Mix.

“Mister Bumpy” is a stop-motion animation. In Brazil, it was shown on SBT between 1995 and 2000, in programs such as Saturday Animado.
In the story, monsters, inanimate objects, toys, and other strange creatures come to life when humans aren’t around.
The protagonist is Mister Bumpy, a green monster who resides under a boy’s bed and feeds on dirty socks. There are also his friends Squishy, a blue monster that lives in the toilet, and the rag doll Molly Coddle.
Mucha Lucha!

“¡Mucha Lucha!” follows the adventures of three young Mexican wrestlers, Rikochet, Buena Niña and Pulga, who attend the “World Renowned International School of Lucha”.
The cartoon was shown on SBT during the first half of the 2000s.

“Super Pig” is a comic anime inspired by magical girl animations such as “Sailor Moon”. The anime was broadcast by Rede Globo in the early 2000s.
In the story, a high school student receives a device from an alien pig, the “Porcompact”, which transforms her into a pink pig superheroine.
out of mind

“Bonkers” is set in a world where cartoon characters and humans coexist. The attraction makes references to other Disney cartoons and animated films.
Bonkers, an anthropomorphic lynx and former cartoon star, becomes a police detective in Hollywood and is assigned a tough human partner. Together they tackle crimes and investigate strange cases.
In Brazil, the animation was broadcast by Globo and SBT throughout the second half of the 1990s. The character was introduced in the cartoon “Raw Toonage” (shown in Brazil by the Disney Club).
Flint the weather detective

On open TV, the anime “Flint, o Detective do Tempo” had a lightning run on Globo in the early 2000s, shown in an edited and censored version by the Fox Kid for American standard.
With a light and childish feel, the animation takes place in a future where time travel is possible and supervised by the time agency.
The protagonist is Flint, a prehistoric boy whose father was turned into a hammer and becomes a time detective.
bucky

The “Bucky” anime had little popularity in Japan and other countries, but it gained attention when it was shown in Brazil by the Band Kids program on Rede Bandeirantes in 2000.
In a mysterious land of 12 worlds, subordinated to the pointed tower, the plot follows Bucky, an eccentric boy who is proud and arrogant, but fair and fearless. He was chosen by Spark, up until then the best “Big Kid” in that universe, to be his successor.
Each of the 12 worlds is protected by the “Big Children”, guardians who protect the populace from pesky monsters and are bearers of the “spirits”, bizarre round pink creatures that explode when they open their hands.
Sheep in the big city

Sheep is a sheep who runs away from the farm to the big city to escape the clutches of General Specific and his top secret military organization that needs sheep to build a superweapon.
While trying to adapt to the urban environment, Sheep keeps on the run from the evil organization.
On open TV, animation was shown by SBT in the 2000s.
assassins

The “Slayers” series has been adapted for television over several seasons; however only the first season of the anime aired in Brazil, precisely on Rede Bandeirantes and Rede 21, in the 2000s, in a flash.
The story of “Slayers” revolves around Lina Inverse, a powerful sorceress who travels the world in search of treasure and adventure.
The crazy world of Tex Avery

“The Mad World of Tex Avery” is a tribute to one of the greatest geniuses in the history of animation, Tex Avery, known for his classic cartoons from the golden age of American cartoons. The cartoon was shown on Globo in the 2000s.
Each episode features a series of short skits filled with visual humor, puns, jokes, and popular culture references. The series also includes iconic characters created by Tex Avery such as Droopy and Screwball Squirrel.
