Bob Marley: One Love Wins First Trailer; clock

Paramount Pictures released this Thursday (6) the first trailer of Bob Marley: One love, documentary film that will portray the life and career of Jamaican singer-songwriter Robert Nesta Marley, better known by his stage name Bob Marley. Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green (King Richard: Creating Champions), the biopic is expected to premiere on January 12, 2024.

It was thrilling and exciting. As someone who was there at the time, many memories and things that were hidden in me come back. It was a very emotional journey.

Getting the blessing from Ziggy and family to come and be steward of the vessel was meaningful to me because I knew I would have access to things that aren’t in the public record: real conversations and memories of people who were there. Ziggy was young, but he was still there. And when you’re 11 or 12, that’s the most impressionable time. You remember a lot about those times.

Reinaldo Marcus Green, director of the film, tells EW.

Green pointed this out Bob Marley: One love focuses on a specific period in the singer’s life. As the director said, from the very beginning the team and family knew that they did not want to portray “the story from the cradle to the grave”.

In this particular period, 76-77, a lot was happening in Bob’s life. It was a time of great creative genius, but he was also dealing with many things, including cancer. He was challenged as a man, as a father and husband, as a musician. Therefore, it is a moment that speaks of his whole life. There are flashes of her earlier life and his childhood, but it’s not about when he was born and when he died. We thought this film was more about how his music lives on and how his message continues to spread.

Bob Marley is the most famous and legendary singer in the history of reggae. His songs, which have marked generations, speak of love, peace and spirituality, having been immortalized over the years. The musician died in 1981, at the age of 36, a victim of aggressive skin cancer.
