Chad Stahelski, director of the “John Wick” franchise, has revealed that the fourth film could have a different ending, which has even been recorded. Stahelski said that while he and actor Keanu Reeves, who plays the lead character, were happy with the result, an alternate version was also filmed, but failed the rehearsal sessions.
We shot an ending where you actually see John Wick at the end of the movie. […] It was very clear that he was still alive. The audience we tested the film with appreciated the ambiguous ending much more.

I’m working on what we call the Director’s Cut and it’s almost done. I think we included 10 or 15 minutes of never-before-seen footage in the film.
