The character has not forgotten his sadistic smile or horse mustache and especially the fans of the Walking Dead. Simon, the unforgettable villain played by Stephen Ogg in the 7th and 8th seasons of the horror series, made a surprise appearance in the fourth episode of the spin-off Dead City, which is dedicated to the new adventure of Maggie and Negan.
Introduced in the original series as Negan’s right-hand man, Simon was killed by the latter after attempting to take his place as leader of the Saviors clan. His corpse was then chained to the gates of the Sanctuary so that his zombified body could be sent to anyone who would in turn question Negan’s authority.
Many years have passed since the facts, and the former leader of the Saviors has begun the path of redemption with the characters of the series, and more specifically with Maggie. Simon appears in a flashback that allows us to discover the latter’s rivalry with Croat, the great evil of Dead City.

I was wondering how to integrate the Croat into this group of saviors that was introduced in season 7. (…) I thought it would be fun to have Negan and Simon reunited, but also to have Croat with Simon. I love their arguments and to some extent their competition for Negan’s attention.
The surprise return of Simon in the spin-off of The Walking Dead in any case made fans of the horror franchise happy, as evidenced by the many messages that netizens posted on the networks after the airing of this new episode!
