“The Hunger Games: The Song of the Birds and the Serpents” gets its first teaser; look

The movie “The Song of Birds and Serpents”, a prelude to “The Hunger Games”, won its first teaser this Sunday.

The teaser itself doesn’t show much about the story and features a frozen bird and snake on a snowy tree. Then the ice begins to melt and the two animals begin to move, with the snake chasing the bird. The text reads: “You are invited to return to the Games”, followed by “In 2023 the world will find out who is the bird and who is the snake”.

Check out the teaser below, which was released exclusively during the MTV Movie Awards:

Based on Suzanne Collins’ prequel novel of the same name released in 2020, the story takes place over 60 years before the events of “The Hunger Games”. It centers on an 18-year-old Capitol boy who will later become the dreaded President Snow, who meets District 12 girl Lucy Gray Baird during that year’s Hunger Games.

President Snow was played by veteran Donald Sutherland in the original films and his younger version, Coriolanus Snow, will be played by Tom Blyth. Alongside him, the protagonist will be Rachel Zegler, who has become more known recently for her role in “Love, Sublime Amor,” and who will also play Snow White in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the fairy tale.

Francis Lawrence, who directed three of the four films in the “Hunger Games” franchise, returns to direct “The Song of Birds and Serpents” and author Suzanne Collins will be one of the film’s screenwriters.

The first film in the “Hunger Games” series was released in 2012. The story takes place in a dystopian future, where the United States is called Panem and every year a boy and a girl from every district of the country have to participate in the Hunger Games, a competition that serves as a punishment for the riots against the Capitol. With the Games broadcast on television, young people fight to the death, until there is only one champion left. The first four films starred Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.

“The Hunger Games: Song of the Birds and the Serpents” will be released in theaters on November 17, 2023.
