After four seasons, the series “Manifest: The Mystery of Flight 828” has come to an end! The production, which chronicles the mysterious reappearance of a flight whose passengers were presumed dead, had a finale full of hope, lessons and emotion.
The last two chapters arrived in early June on Netflix, which saved the series from cancellation by taking over the production in the last season, ensuring a worthy epilogue to the plot.
American Drama Story was released in 2018 by NBC, telling the fictional story of Flight 828 and its crash landing in New York City, USA. While unrealistic, the plot was inspired by Malaysian Airlines Flight 370, which inexplicably disappeared in 2014.
After launching three seasons, the NBC television network decided to abandon the project when it came time to present its finale, but the commotion from the fans and even the actors of the series, made Netflix take on the mission to put the last season on the air. .
plot of the series
Manifest is about the supernatural story of 191 passengers who went through a turbulent flight, but made it to New York alive. However, upon reuniting with family and friends, they discover the plane was missing and the passengers presumed dead for 5 years.
Siblings Ben Stone (Josh Dalas) and Michaela Stone (Melissa Roxburgh) then decide to investigate the incident on their own, after an erroneous conclusion by the police.
During the four seasons they confront the other passengers, with the aim of finding explanations, and understand that they have received visions, known as “callings”. With this, the explanation of lived experience is totally supernatural.
Manifesto: What really happened in the series
!
As the final season progresses, viewers learn that the disappearances of Flight 828’s passengers occurred because they were selected by God to undergo a test, to verify their ability to do good, as well as determine whether the world would come eventually or not.
In other words, the missing passengers had to pass the test, to avoid the apocalypse. Therefore, they received “Calls”, which were like visions, to help them with missions after the flight.
This gift was granted after the plane landed in divine consciousness, a space of connection with God, and where it remained for the remaining five and a half years. However, none of the passengers noticed the passage of time.
The Calls were nothing more than small tests that led to a much bigger one, that of avoiding the death of all passengers and, consequently, the end of the world, scheduled for June 2, 2024. At first, even unaware of everything this, they followed the visions up to the last days before the Date of Death.

cast finale
In recent episodes, Cal Stone (Ty Doran), who had a special connection with divine consciousness, after acquiring the powers of the Omega Sapphire (which controlled the Callings), sacrifices himself to connect to another stone like the one in the his body, which was incorporated into a piece of Noah’s Ark.
Cal lures all of Flight 828’s passengers, including Angelina (Holly Taylor), who believes she was chosen by God, making only her and her followers worthy of saving themselves in the end. Therefore, when the Montego Airways plane ejects from the place where the last piece of Noah’s Ark was, which led them to this situation, Angelina believes that it is her own ark.
Meanwhile, Ben Stone (Josh Dallas), Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh), Saanvi (Parveen Kaur) and the other passengers try to convince Angelina and her followers that they must all get on the plane together to pass the day of judgement. Otherwise, the goal would not be achieved.
Ben has a moment of doubt and thinks of taking revenge on Angelina, for all the harm she has caused, but she manages to convince him otherwise, saying that she never intended to kill his wife Grace (Athena Karkanis). Therefore, he decides to carry her on his lap on the plane, fulfilling and revealing an ancient prophecy, that history should happen this way for them to succeed.

Once everyone is inside the plane, the captain takes off and, still in the air, they begin to be judged. The bad guys end up dying, just like they would have if Flight 828 hadn’t disappeared. Those who still managed to redeem themselves, reversed their judgment at the last minute, as happened with the con man Eagan Tehrani (Ali Lopez Sohaili).
So the passengers think that everything is fine, but a shadow rises from the ashes of the dead passengers, trying to take more souls. However, Bem, Michaela and the others have faced the shadow, which was about death, and it leaves them alone.
The world outside the plane, which was on fire, returns to normal. They then enter divine consciousness again, tracing it back to April 7, 2013, the date the plane reportedly landed in New York before the disappearance.
With the return to the past, Ben finds Grace, who is alive, as well as her mother, who died during the time they were missing. In addition, Cal and the other passengers killed over the years also return, aside from those who did not survive the final judgment.
Then, Michaela, who was proposed to by Jared (JR Ramirez) before the trip to Jamaica, ends the relationship with the police officer, saying that there is something much more special for him in the future, referring to Drea Mikami (Ellen Tamaki) and their daughter, Hope, born before the passengers saved the world.
Later, talking to Ben and family about going home, Michaela recalls a conversation she had with her late husband, Zeke Landon (Matt Long), that he was at the airport the day they were due to fly back, because he worked driving of a taxi. .
The young woman then runs to meet Zeke and, when a gentleman tries to get into the car, he is stopped by her, who claims that the driver is her husband. In shock, he decides to try to understand the stranger, asking him if they know each other. Michaela claims she does, promising to tell her along the way.
