With the success of Yellowstone and its spin-offs, King of Tulsa or Mayor of Kingstown, Taylor Sheridan has established himself in the competitive world of TV series in recent years. This summer, the American writer, director and producer returns to delight his fans with a brand new creation, Special Operations: Lioness!
He seems particularly fond of thrillers, interested in the day-to-day life of Joe, the CIA’s leading officer in the war on terror and station chief of the Lioness program. He welcomes into his ranks Cruz Manuelos, a young Marine who is a bit brutal but passionately recruited to go undercover and disrupt the new 9/11 project.
Expected to premiere on July 23rd and exclusively on Paramount +, this series promises to be intense and muscular as per the images released in the trailer. There will be tension for all lovers of the genre!
Stellar distribution
If the TV series Special Ops: Lion is also talked about a lot, it is partly thanks to its impressive cast. Zoe Saldana, known for her roles in Avatar, Guardians of the Galaxy and the Star Trek sagas, will play Joe, while Leisla de Oliveira (Locke and the Key) will play Cruz Manuelos.
After shining on the small screen in the series Big Little Lies, The Undoing or even Nine Perfect Strangers, Nicole Kidman continues her momentum and lends her qualities to the character of Caitlin Mead, who oversees the Lion program with Donald Westfield, interpreted by Michael. Kelly (House of Cards, Person of Interest). And that’s not all, because the great Morgan Freeman is there too!
While Lawmen: Bass Reeves and Land Man, two more of Taylor Sheridan’s series, have already been announced, don’t miss the latest creation from the man to whom we owe a great serial saga dedicated to family. Duton.
Special Ops: Lioness premieres July 23 on Paramount+.
