The supporting actors’ work was also highly praised in Oppenheimer’s early reviews.

A little over a week after the premiere of Oppenheimer in Brazilian cinemas, the first critics who watched the film revealed their first impressions on social networks. One of the main praised points was the direction of Christopher Nolan and performances of Matt Damon (Leslie Groves), Robert Downey Jr. (lewis strauss) It is Cillian Murphy (J. Robert Oppenheimer).

The film’s synopsis reads: “The physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer works with a team of scientists during the Manhattan Projectleading to the development of the atomic bomb.” The cast also features Florence Pugh (Jean Tatlock), Emily Blunt (Kitty Oppenheimer), jack quaid (Richard Feynman), Devon Bostick (Seth Neddermeyer), Rami Malek (david hill), between others.

Robbie Collinof The Telegraphpraised the production: “I’m torn between being all shy and mysterious about Oppenheimer and just come out and say it’s a total knockout that split my brain like a restless plutonium core and left me crying in the end credits like I don’t even remember what else.”

And for all those who complained about the lack of sex in previous work of Christopher Nolan… man, man, you’re seeing sex, why just nolan could stage it in this one.

Already jonathan deanof The Sunday Times, also praised the film, but revealed some negative points. “Fully absorbed in Oppenheimera dense, spoken and tense film in part about the bomb, mostly about how we are doomed. […] An audacious, inventive and complex film to shake its audience,” he wrote. “The bad part? Women are poorly served – Emily Blunt leaves her stressed role as a mother only once. But it’s right in my top three for Nolan, right next to Amnesia (2000) and The big trick (2006).”

“Oppenheimer left me stunned: a character study on a grand scale, with a sublime central performance by Cillian Murphy. An epic historical drama, but with a distinctly Nolan sensibility: the tension, structure, sense of scale, surprising sound design, remarkable visuals. Wow,” stated Matt Maytumcritic of Total Film.

Steven Weintraubof colliderstill highlighted the work of other people: “Oppenheimer, from Christopher Nolan, it’s amazing. Every aspect of the film is worth talking about, from the brilliant performances to the incredible work of the [diretor de fotografia] Hoytevan Hoytema behind the camera, to the way Nolan tells the story. The three hours runtime flies by.”
