With positive critical reactions and a hype that surprised even Margot Robbie, Barbie He’s already breaking records. According to numbers provided by Input.com to Omelete, the film featuring the world’s most famous doll has already sold more presales than any other film of 2023 in Brazil.
Barbie is a live-action of two of the most recognizable puppets in the world. Starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, the film follows Barbie and Ken on a journey beyond the walls of barbielandhometown of the couple.
Directed by Greta Gerwig, the cast also stars Simu Liu (Shang Chi), Michael Cera (Juno), Issa Rae (insecure), Kate McKinnon (Ghost Buster), Nicholas Coughlan (bridgerton), Emma Mackey (Sex education), John Cena (Fast & Furious), Will Ferrell (A leprechaun in New York) and even Dua Lipa, who all play other versions of the puppets.
Recently, the international press got an exclusive look at the production, which received nothing but praise, leaving the network flustered and anxious.
Barbie caught me off guard and I mean that in the best possible way. She is funny, bombastic and very intelligent. Greta Gerwig aims for fences and hits a home run. Margot Robbie’s performance is fantastic and Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu are pure entertainment! The whole cast is brilliant.
