The past few weeks have featured some casting snippets for the upcoming one Scream movie, scream 6 if it’s a sequel (although it will likely be known as something else when it arrives). However, one person who won’t appear (at least at this point) is franchise veteran Neve Campbell, who decided to skip this one after passing the Paramount studio’s low-cost offer.
“Unfortunately, I won’t be doing the sequel Scream film, “her statement reads.” As a woman, I have had to work very hard in my career to establish my worth, especially when it comes to Scream. I felt that the offer that was presented to me did not match the value I brought to the franchise. ”
“It was a very difficult decision to move forward,” he continues. “To all of mine Scream fans, I love you. You have always been incredibly supportive. I will always be grateful to you and what this franchise has given me over the past 25 years. ”
This is bad news for those hoping to see Sidney Prescott kick ass on screen again, but Campbell should be applauded for holding on.
Those who will be on screen for the upcoming Ghostface-flavored series include the latest film survivors Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding, as well as veteran Courteney Cox and scream 4Hayden Panettiere, recently confirmed. Also on board? New recruit Dermot Mulroney.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from the most recent film return to direct the next one, from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. “I just read part of the script, and it’s getting more and more bloody,” Ortega he recently told Entertainment Tonight. “I think it’s probably the most aggressive and violent version of Ghostface we’ve ever seen, and I think it’s going to be a lot of fun to shoot.” this after Scream It will be released on March 31st. Will Paramount, raised on people like Top Gun: Maverick Yes Sonic the hedgehog, do you open your coffers to provide better assistance to Campbell? Look at this (ghost) space …
