Site alleged how James Cameron negotiated with ‘major streaming network’ to tell story of OceanGate submersible
After the tragedy of Titansubmersible that imploded with five people (all died) when it was going to visit the wreckage of the RMS Titanic, The Sun published a news, which said how James Camerondirector of Titanic (1997), would be involved in a film about the incident. Now, the filmmaker has denied the speculation completely – and called those rumors “offensive.”
In June 2023, a vessel from the Titanfrom the company OceanGate, with five men disappeared into the ocean while making an expedition to the ship. In a search and rescue operation, five pieces of wreckage from the submersible were found.
So, a source of a story from the The Sun said how Cameron was “in talks with a major streaming network to create a drama series on the doomed Titan submarine,” in addition to him being “the first choice to direct” a film about the incident.
In a publication on Twitter, the filmmaker denied everything, in addition to being very uncomfortable with the speculation. “I don’t normally respond to offensive rumors in the media, but I need to do it now. I am NOT in talks about a movie about OceanGatenor will I ever be,” he wrote.
I don’t respond to offensive rumors in the media usually, but I need to now. I’m NOT in talks about an OceanGate film, nor will I ever be.

‘Searches for missing submarine were a hoax,’ says James Cameron
During an interview with BBC, JamesCameron commented on how he believes the authorities knew of the death of the crew when the submarine lost contact with the surface.
“There were no searches. When they finally got [colocar] a piece of equipment down there that could reach depth, they found it in a few hours. Probably within minutes,” declared the director.
If the submersible’s electronics fail, the communication system fails, and the tracking transponder fails simultaneously, the submersible is gone. For me, there was no doubt. I knew the submersible was exactly below its last known position.
James Cameron is a director experienced in exploring the bottom of the oceans and visited the wreck of the Titanic more than 30 times to shoot the film. He also holds a degree in Physics from California State University.
The director further explained that media alerts regarding the amount of oxygen present inside the submersible created a “prolonged farce” of possible chances of rescue. The implosion of the submarine and the death of the crew was confirmed on June 22, 2023, by the US Coast Guard. Cameron believes that the Navy knew about the implosion from the beginning.
