Mano Menezes analyzes the draw between Inter and Palmeiras and minimizes the boos: “Brazilian football is this eternal reconstruction”

Internacional and Palmeiras drew goalless this Sunday in Beira-Rio for the Brazilian championship. The Colorados were superior in the first phase, but fell behind in the second half and went to a third straight game without a win. Coach Mano Menezes analyzed the match and played down the boos received from fans in the stadium.

In his first game as a starter since his return to Inter, midfielder Charles Aránguiz was one of the protagonists of the first half. However, the Chilean was substituted at half-time after feeling discomfort in his hip. Manager Mano Menezes saw the midfielder’s departure as one of the contributing factors to the home side’s declining income.

“I think our first half was very good, taking into account these circumstances of the game, construction, quality, which is what we have been working on for a long time. In the second half, we can no longer play. We lost an important player in la our construction, which is giving the team what it takes to get out of quality, as we did in the first half, our ball started to go back a little more, we started making mistakes that took away some of the peace of mind team and we fell out of production” Mano Menezes said in the conference after the match.

At the end of the match, some fans booed Internacional’s performance and protested the coach. Mano said the demonstrations are part of Brazilian football, often regardless of what phase clubs are going through.

“Palmeiras was booed on Wednesday. When we went to play the Maracanã, there were boos for the home team before the match. Brazilian football is this eternal reconstruction,” he said.

Internacional is back on the pitch next Sunday, at 4pm (Brasilia time), to face Red Bull Bragantino, at the Nabi Abi Chedid stadium. The match is valid for the 16th round of the Brasileirão.
