Known for having directed one of the most famous films in the world and for being a great explorer of the seabed, James Cameron took to Twitter last Saturday (15) to clarify some rumors about an upcoming production: a film about the tragedy of the OceanGate submarine, which imploded with five people inside during an expedition to the wreck of the Titanic.
Troubled by various speculations, especially after commenting on the Titan case, Cameron has stated, emphatically, that he has no plans to develop a feature film about the incident.
I usually don’t respond to hurtful rumors in the media, but I have to now. I am NOT talking about an OceanGate movie and I never will.

At the time Cameron even commented on the tragedy, comparing it to that of the Titanic, given that, according to an investigation, OceanGate was aware of the risks and poor safety of the submarine. It is worth mentioning that Cameron has made 33 wreck dives of the famous and luxurious ship and knows the place well.
I am struck by the similarity to the Titanic disaster itself, where the captain was repeatedly warned of the presence of ice ahead of his ship and yet sailed at full speed into an ice field on a moonless night and many people died as a result . .
James Cameron, in an interview with ABC News.
In the most recent news of the Titan incident investigation, preliminary reports indicated that the submersible would attempt to abort the mission before losing contact with the surface.
OceanGate had previously aborted previous dives of the vessel due to problems with the propulsion and flotation systems and reportedly ignored several expert warnings about the dangers of the mission.
