Un Si Grand Soleil Preview: Thursday July 20, 2023 Episode Summary [SPOILERS]

Becker will not compromise

Aline Roux, the commander of the IGPN, begins her own internal investigation. If the latter now knows the exact course of the operation that led to Vincent’s death, it remains for him to determine whether there was a command error in expelling Karine and Maeva. Therefore, he questions Commissioner Becker, who confirms that he did not make a mistake. When he tries to figure out if it’s possible that he and Laurent Geoffroy misunderstood each other on the phone, Becker states that he apparently heard a City Hall employee give him an eviction order. The only mistake he made was that he trusted Laurent Geoffroy’s honesty and did not particularly ask for confirmation of this order.

Aline then meets Manu. Faced with the commander’s many questions, Captain Leon is particularly vague. It must be said that the policeman respects Superintendent Becker and he has no desire to complain about it. Alex, on the other hand, is also shown to be loyal to his commissar.

Not far from there, Janet calls Becker to find out how things went with Allyn Russ. He then explains to her that the commander wants to quickly end this investigation by saying that there was no mistake on the part of the prefecture, as the conflict between the police and the prefecture would cause embarrassment. Therefore, Aline wants him to admit that the misunderstanding between him and the prefectural assistant started the expulsion. Of course, Becker thinks he’s proven his skills and loyalty enough to not agree to their compromise. Although Janet hopes that Mark’s research will be successful as long as his superiors discover that he is using the press, Becker replies that he does not care.

Later in the day, Chloe joins Mark at the bar and confirms to him that the prefecture has expedited the process for certain apartments, ordering evictions a week or two after the verdict. Usually, this type of procedure takes much longer. When Mark tries to find out if he has found a common denominator among all these expulsions, the clerk confirms that he has found two. All the corresponding apartments are owned by the real estate company Home F34 and always Laurent Geoffroy’s name stands out on the prefecture side. Mark and Chloe then realize that it is about official corruption.

Father Silvio touched a sensitive cord

At the hospital, Janet informs Father Silvio that the cause of her heart attack may be acute myocarditis. He also specifies that his myocardial inflammation is undoubtedly of viral origin. So he wants to do more tests to make sure.

Jennifer, on the other hand, learns that she passed the nursing school entrance exam. A terrible disappointment for a young woman. Faced with her little face, Father Silvio urges her to trust. If Jennifer talks about her competition, she especially takes the opportunity to talk about the humiliations Lauryn has endured since her arrival. Father Silvio, who thinks that evil people suffer great pain, then advises him to show mercy rather than be offended. He then assures her that she is a wonderful person and will make a great nurse. He said he should not lose faith because he will eventually come back. Finding a smile, Jennifer thanks him.

Later, Lorin visits Father Silvio and is particularly cold to him. The priest, who feels a lot of anger in him, therefore realizes that people who have been abused in childhood have a tendency to reproduce some violence. It hurt, he says, having nothing to do with his analysis before hastily leaving the room.

After that, Father Silvio meets Christophe and suggests that they resume the conversation where they left off. Only, the vet points out that it won’t be necessary because he doesn’t need it anymore. At the end of the day, Lorina and Francois meet in a restaurant. If a businessman criticizes his daughter for being 10 minutes late, he does not hesitate to dress her. However, Lauryn is fed up with her father, who treats her like a princess one day and a maid the next. So she points out to him that he already had a mother to humiliate him throughout his childhood. Uncomfortable, Francois withdraws, then asks for the card.
