Visitors: Stop at 40 minutes and 53 seconds and take a good look at this sign

Of course Les Visiteurs, the mythical French comedy directed by Jean-Marie Poire in 1993 and broadcast tonight on TF1, does not contain as many hidden details as a feature film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe or an animated film from Pixar studios.

However, without reaching the level of an American blockbuster, The Temporal Adventure of Godfrey the Bold and Jacqueline the Crook still contains a few little easter eggs that you might be able to spot if you know the movie inside out.

Indeed, when you (re)discover the feature on TV tonight, we recommend, for example, that you open your eyes at 40 minutes and 53 seconds. In the sequence where Béatrice de Montmireil (Valérie Lemercier) has just released Godfroy (who is actually her direct ancestor from the 12th century) from a mental hospital, pay particular attention to the plaques hanging on the walls of the facility.

You may note that they point the way to services provided by “Dr. A. Terzian” and “Professor P. Ledoux.” A discreet little reference to the film’s two producers: Alain Terzian and Patrice Ledoux.

But this Easter egg is far from the only one hidden in The Visitors. In addition to the reference to Operation Corned Beef (Jean-Marie Poirier’s previous feature) or the cameo of Gerard Viv (actor from The Girls Next Door), we also suggest you take a look at the seemingly innocuous photo posted right next to it. Jacquiel the rogue, a bit later in the film.

During the famous sequence where we see Godfroy’s neighbor answering the phone while imitating the cries of all kinds of animals, at precisely 48 minutes and 27 seconds, take a good look at the shot to his right (and therefore left of the screen). ).

We see a shot of Jean-Pierre, Beatrice’s dentist husband, played by Christian Boujot, who seems to be begging his wife not to take his picture, judging by his embarrassed hand sign. A fun little detail that most viewers probably never noticed.
