Forward Gustagol, a former Corinthians player, received a special plaque last Sunday for the 100 games played by the South Korean Jeonbuk. The tribute took place on the day of his team’s victory against Suwon FC, 1-0.
“I am very happy to have reached this important milestone in this club that I have come to love. I am also grateful for the support of the fans, they have always been by my side. I thank the board for the trust and the opportunity to perform at a high level at Jeonbuk” , commented Gustagol.
The striker has already won three titles in South Korea and is the author of the fastest goal in K-League history, with 12 seconds. On two occasions, the striker scored four times in a single game.
Gustagol was signed by Corinthians in 2016, but had more minutes in 2019, when he scored 14 goals in 53 games. After his spell at Timão, the player still defended Internacional before leaving for Korea.
In the current season of South Korean football, Gustagol has scored six goals in 21 matches played.
