The ball market is frenetic during the Women’s World Cup. Starting defender for the national team in the 4-0 victory over Panama, Lauren is in the new club. KC Current, from the United States, announced the signing of the Brazilian, who was at Madrid CFF. Now the defender will play alongside Debinha, his teammate at Canarinho.
“Having the ability to bring someone of Lauren’s class to Kansas City is an easy decision for us. She is a promising young quarterback with international experience and we believe she has the ability to elevate our relentless drive on the field. Having not one, but two Brazilian national team players here in Kansas City will make this an exciting type of football to watch any game night,” said Camille Ashton, general manager of KC Current.
By the way, in a video posted on KC Current’s social networks, Debinha “announced” the hiring of Lauren.
“Hi guys. I’m so excited to let you know who our new hire is,” said Debinha.

Lauren, revealed by São Paulo, has signed with KC Current until the end of the 2024 season, with an option to renew for another year. Thus, the defender comes to the North American team after the end of the Women’s Cup. At the age of 20, she was one of the highlights of the selection in the first round of the World Cup.
