On June 7, the premiere of Ivan Vdovin’s film “Voices of the Arctic” was held at the Khudozhestvenny cinema – this is a large-scale film journey beyond the Arctic Circle, which combines the secrets of shamans and life in the Arctic desert, modern technological process and the struggle of small peoples for their traditions and culture. Denis Simachev went on an expedition to the North to record the voices of the Arctic and combine them into a single musical composition. Simachev collected more than 12 ethnic voices, from which he created the musical album “Arctic”. The music formed the basis of the film’s soundtrack, and the album will be released on music platforms.
Svetlana Bondarchuk, Alexander Tsypkin, Nadya Mikhalkova, Pavel Derevyanko, Ilya Bachurin, Vlad Lisovets, Victoria Polyakova, Masha Fedorova, Igor Garanin, Anna Slyu, Vika Gazinskaya, Alexey Karakhan and Sasha Lekomtseva, Danya came to the premiere of the film about the Far North on a summer evening Radlov, Yana Gladkikh and others.

This project is more mystical than real,” Simachev said. – And even the very fact of how I got on the project is a confirmation of this. Vanya Vdovin calls me a week before the expedition and says: “Could you help make warm clothes for our expedition? And yet – maybe you will go with us for just two days?” As a result, we returned only a month later. With the light hand of Vanya, I also became a composer – this is my debut. We wrote the soundtrack and the album, and my mind turned over after the expedition.
The history of cinema began with documentaries, and today we are showing a documentary in the oldest cinema in Russia,” Vdovin said. – Moreover, our film is released in wide distribution: from Kaliningrad to Sakhalin, in more than 100 cities and 300 cinemas. This is a huge number for documentary films. Over 120 years, cinema, Russia, the world have changed, but culture and traditions have been preserved, which are sometimes located in such distant places that we did not imagine that we would get.”
The film “Voices of the Arctic” will be released on June 9.
