STJD reduces the penalty for Santos, who could get his fans back in Vila

The Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) has decided to reduce Santos’ penalty for playing in Vila Belmiro without fans. The initial punishment was eight games without an audience and 150km from the stadium. Now, the STJD has decided to cut it down to four games. Thus, Peixe will be able to count on his fans against Grêmio, on the 20th (Sunday), at 4 pm, for the Brazilian championship.

The previous penalty imposed by the STJD on Santos was eight games without fans. However, in this Wednesday’s session (9), the Court decided to reduce the penalty imposed on Peixe to only four games, already completed. If he hadn’t managed to overturn the penalty, Alvinegro Praiano would only have fans in Vila Belmiro at the end of October, against Coritiba.

The last match that Peixe had his fans in the Brazilian championship took place on June 21, when he lost against Corinthians 2-0 and it was in this match that a confusion occurred. Santos fans threw objects at the players. Thus, the club was punished.

How Santos behaved during the punishment of the STJD

Thus, in this period of four games without fans, Santos lost against Flamengo (2 to 3), drew with Botafogo (2 to 2) and Athletico Paranaense (1 to 1) and beat Goiás (4 to 3 ). Indeed, the victory over Esmeraldino was the only one for the team, in the last ten games in Vila Belmiro.
