The Federal Supreme Court (STF) withdrew from the agenda the ruling, scheduled for tomorrow, which deals with the investigation into contract deviations for robotics kits in Alagoas. The investigation targets allies of the mayor, Arthur Lira (PP-AL).
In the sentence, which will be held in the Second College, the ministers will decide whether to confirm or overturn the decision of the rapporteur, Gilmar Mendes, who suspended the investigation in July.
The case is treated confidentially. According to STF sources, the case was withdrawn from the agenda because the typology of the process (complaint) allows definitive monocratic decisions by the Court regiment without a referendum by the collegiate.
Gilmar responded to a request from Lira’s defense, who said the investigation should have been handled by the STF due to the deputy’s privileged jurisdiction. Initially, the mayor was not the target of the investigation, but the judge of the 2nd Federal Court of Alagoas (JFAL) found evidence of Lira’s participation in the fraud. Therefore, the case was referred to the STF.
In an opinion sent to the STF, the PGR defended the annulment of the investigations and the declaration of nullity of the evidence.
