In 2021, you definitely can’t miss Cruel Summer, the teen series co-produced by Jessica Biel, whose rights Prime Video has bought. It created a surprise and received more than positive reviews from the press and the audience. The latter were captivated by the story of Kate, a popular girl who disappeared overnight. Doubts quickly weigh on a high school friend…
Its 3.9/5 rating according to AlloCiné viewers makes it one of the most popular teen series of the moment. The Summer I Became Beautiful is also available on Prime Video. And after two years of waiting, it’s finally back, but with a few changes.
With an almost identical recipe, Cruel Summer returns for its 2nd season on Prime Video after airing on Freeform in the US. The anthology obliges, the plot and casting change, but the promise remains the same with new mysteries, revelations, and a change of scenery… until the final scene that calls everything into question (as in the first season).
This season 2 will focus on the friendship of three 17-year-olds, which is turned upside down when one of them is murdered. Between the dark secrets, illegal tapes and toxic romance, the victim had no shortage of enemies. The action this time takes place between 1999 and 2000. Sadie Stanley (The Goldbergs), Lexy Underwood (Little Fires Everywhere) and Griffin Gluck (Locke and Key) make up this new trio.
Three new characters at the center of the second season of Cruel Summer
Ten new episodes are available today on Prime Video, and each one moves between three recognizable eras thanks to filters. The past sheds light on the present to allow viewers/future detectives to unravel the mystery…
