The essence of the show is that, each season, a different group of drag queens vie for the crown, the title of Complain Super starand an ever-increasing cash prize. The challenges range from making clothes out of random materials – garbage, plastic objects, and sometimes real fabric – to performing music or acting, standingimpersonations of famous people and the transformation of the audience or crew members into drag queens.

At the end of the episode the queens are judged by the jury, and the ones who didn’t do so well in the challenges make a lip sync -lip sync used in plays-, and RuPaul decides who stays and who should leave the show.
As the competition unfolds and the participants interact with each other, the dramatic moments, confessions, sabotage, betrayals, breakdowns, flirtations – and bonding based on traumas experienced by the LGBTQIAPN+ community – function as a way to bring the queen’s audience.
