A cold front associated with an extratropical cyclone forms this Friday between Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina. The rain, winds and cold air of polar origin that accompanies the cold front will cause a sharp drop in temperature in southern Brazil. It won’t be winter’s strongest cold airmass and there’s no expectation of record-breaking cold temperatures, but it will be enough to bring the temperature to or near normal August standards.
This Friday, the the temperature will have a greater drop in Rio Grande do Sul, but on Saturday 19 August, Santa Catarina and Paraná will also register a strong decrease in heat.
OR It will be cold on Sunday morningwith forecast of frosts in the Countryside and in the Serra Gaúcha, in the mountain range and in the southern plateau regions of Santa Catarina.
