Before Netflix became the streaming giant we know today, the platform began life as a rental delivery service in the United States. After 25 years of operation, the company announced in April that it was shutting down the service. However, the small red company will not leave fans of physical media completely helpless and will make one last effort: by the end of September it will send envelopes with up to 10 DVDs to users who choose to participate.
Netflix’s latest effort
Netflix released a email on Reddit announcing the news. People who use the company’s DVD home delivery service can receive 10 more discs in the mail, not knowing it until they arrive.
You can find up to 10 extra red envelopes [se referindo ao envelope em que os discos são enviados] in your mailbox after September 29th. You won’t know they are being shipped until they reach you. Keep an eye out and have a good session!

How does it work
End of Netflix as a rental company
In the beginning Netflix was just a rental company and only after years they converted to a streaming service. However, the movie rental service, which used to be mailed to users’ homes, never ceased to exist.
The company only announced the end of the rental company this year, in April.
Also in the mail of the 10 DVDs, Netflix thanked the users.
After 25 years of making movies by mail, we are nearing the end of our final season. We really appreciate you sharing movie nights with us until the very last day. Let’s have fun for our finale!
