Goodbye Riverdale: How the Netflix series ends?

We’ve known this for a while now, Riverdale is ending after 7 seasons. The CW aired the final episode of the series yesterday, which was immediately uploaded to Netflix here .

After spending the entire season in the 1950s, this final episode takes place in a small part in the present day. It opens with 86-year-old Betty (Lili Reinhart), who discovers that her old friend Jughead has died. She asks her grandson to take her to Riverdale one last time to reminisce about her teenage years. The meeting is scheduled for the next day.

As she sleeps peacefully, she is awakened by the angel Jughead, who offers to relive a day in the past: Betty chooses the last day of high school she missed because she had the mumps (! ). So in the 50s, with her colorful looks and updo hair. A young girl takes the opportunity to say a final goodbye to her friends and sign her almanac. A chance for us to know what happened to the characters.

What happens to the characters after Riverdale ends?

Archie (KJ Apa) decides to head west and join a construction company. He will settle by the sea, where he will meet the woman with whom he will have a family. Kevin (Casey Cote) and Clay also move to Harlem together, where they live the bohemian life. The latter becomes a teacher at Columbia after a few years. As for Kevin, he will open his own off-Broadway company.

Back to the 50’s for an emotional final day

Fang is hired to do a music tour at the end of high school. But he died 1 month later after a car accident. The money from his gold record will allow Moose and his daughter to support themselves.

Reggie (Charles Melton) recruits a basketball team before being drafted by the Lakers. After the death of his parents and to run the family business, he returns to Riverdale to coach a high school team that includes his two children.

Eventually, Betty would also launch her own women’s magazine, which is still sold today. He never marries but adopts a daughter. A young woman will not see her group of friends again after graduating from high school.

We also learn during this memory-filled day that Betty, Archie, Jughead, and Veronica have formed a quad over the past year, a polyamorous relationship we haven’t seen at all.

Flash back to the present with an older Betty returning to Riverdale to say goodbye to her town. He dies peacefully in his grandson’s car. We find him beyond that, in a 50s version of himself, where Popshi finds all his friends who died before him. His desire to relive the carefree years of school forever, which is confirmed by the angel Jughead in front of the camera.
