Dune 2 hits theaters in March 2024

the postponement of Dune 2for 2024 can be advantageous for Christopher Nolan, which earned the second highest-grossing of the year in the United States. With the film out of the 2023 Oscars, the odds of Oppenheimer take some prizes home increase. The analysis is from Variety.

In the 2022 edition, the first part of Dune took six statuettes home, proving what he came for. In addition, the feature film was highly awarded in the technical categories, the same in which Oppenheimer can do fine. However, historically, sequels have not been as award-winning as the first film. There are, of course, exceptions: the trilogy of Lord of the Ringsfor example, won in the 11 categories in which it competed only with The Return of the King (2003).

Oppenheimer can compete in the following categories, according to the Variety: Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Original Score.
