The Huawei Mate 60 features a metal and glass or leatherette finish, 66W charging and a high-resolution flat screen
A Huawei announced the second model of its new generation of high-end smartphones. OR kill 60 arrives to accompany the new announced Companion 60 Pro, shown a few days ago. Being cheaper, it makes some cuts in specs compared to its more expensive sibling, such as slightly slower charging and a flat screen without the triple hole punch for advanced facial recognition.

Overall, though, the Mate 60 is very similar to the Mate 60 Pro. Looking from the back they are essentially identical, with the same circular module to house the three rear cameras and LED flash, and the same two-tone finish, with the lower part metal and glass top or material imitating leather. Instead of a curved screen on all four sides, the device has a flat screen with very thin borders around it.

Its screen is a little smaller, 6.69 inches with OLED LTPO technology, resolution of 2,688 x 1,216 pixels and variable refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. It uses the same Kirin 9000 seen in the Mate 60 Pro.
It has 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage space, comes from the factory with the HarmonyOS 4.0 operating system. Its battery is 4,750mAh with support for 66W fast charging — versus the Mate 60 Pro’s 5,000mAh and 88W. Like its big brother, it supports satellite communication in China.

As for the cameras, it has a 50MP main camera with a variable aperture of f/1.4 and f/4.0, as well as a 12MP ultrawide one. One difference is in the periscope lens, which here has 12MP instead of 48MP, allowing for 5x optical zoom. Its front camera is also shared with the Mate 60 Pro, 13 MP with an ultrawide lens, but there are no additional sensors for 3D facial recognition, limited to the fingerprint reader under the screen.
price and availability
The Mate 60 arrives on the Chinese market in four color options: black, purple, white and green. It is available for pre-order with delivery scheduled for September 17th. The official price is 5,999 yuan, about R$ 4,100 without adding national taxes. There is no information on availability outside of China.
