Planning and Budget Minister Simone Tebet told a news conference on Thursday afternoon that the 2024 budget is balanced, with all expenditures contracted and revenues outlined, with the aim of achieving the target of primary outcome zero.
Together with Finance Minister Fernando Haddad, Tebet also said that the budget proposal will be sent to the National Congress by 7 pm on Thursday.
“We are facing a very balanced budget, with all the contracted expenses, with all the revenues very well defined, as the Revenue Agency normally does, that is, being very cautious in numbers,” said Tebet.
The minister also underlined that the budget represents a “great challenge” and “the most complex in all of history”.
